Hi lovely readers,
I was recently invited to Hotel Bennett in downtown Charleston to try the new Stylish Southern menu at the Gabrielle, their luxurious in-house restaurant. Let me tell you, this was an unforgettable night full of delicious food and in the most charming hotel I’ve been in to date.
In case you haven’t heard of Hotel Bennett, it has been named one of the “Best New Hotels In The World” by Conde Nast Traveler, and I’m not suprised. This hotels is STUNNING! From the moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by beauty, from the wall murals to the decor.
We started our evening at the bar/lounge with a glass of champagne as we took in every square inch of the gorgeous atmosphere. We were then ready to dine at their in-house restaurant, the Gabrielle, where we had the pleasure of trying their new Stylish Southern menu created by their new Executive Chef Bob Gibson and Executive Pastry Chef Remy Funfrock. Our dining experience began with cocktails which were amazing! Then the first course, appetizers arrived and we were served with a couple dishes that were explained to us in detail. The next courses proceeded, and dish after dish we got to taste unbelievable food. The servers were so informative and helpful, and the presentation of every plate was exquisite.
Towards the end of our the meal portion, we had the opportunity to try more hand-crafted cocktails, just in time for dessert. And may I say the dessert we enjoyed was superb! It’s safe to say we were definitely in a food coma by the end of the night and still wanted to savor every bite of every dish we got to try.
Once our meal was done, we headed to Camellias, this city’s premier Champagne lounge. This space was definitely made for me! It is a plush, luxurious, pink room with gorgeous crystal chandelier and beautiful decor and seating. We enjoyed a drink there which was the perfect way to end a perfect night of wining and dining.
I must say that everyone at Hotel Bennett, the Gabrielle, and Camellias was super friendly and professional, and made this experience truly a memorable one. And in case you’re wandering, the entire staff was wearing masks to comply with COVID-19 regulations.
